“This is a memory I want to forget about the last season. That’s why I try not to bring it up often. I’m trying not to get buried in the fact that I didn’t play many games last season,” Kim said after the training session in Nagoya, Japan on Sunday. “I’m getting better. I’m trying to do it step by step. If I get greedy, I might lose my condition. I still have a lot of work to do.”

He played in only 14 games last season due to major and minor injuries. He played the fewest games since his debut in the pro league in the 2011-2012 season. He also suffered mental and physical challenges after the injury.

“I got hurt while doing the attack motion, which increased my fear of rear-end attacks. I felt a lot of anxiety just by stepping on my leg. I forgot everything when I was okay and made the attack as much as I could. But as it hurt, I felt anxious again,” he said.
