The Kiwoom Heroes have officially announced the signing of outfielder Kang Jin-seong (30) from the SSG Landers.

Drafted by the NC Dinos with the 33rd overall pick in the fourth round of the 2012 KBO Draft, Kang joined the Doosan Bears as compensation for free agent Park Gun-woo in 2021. In the 2023 season, he moved to SSG in a one-for-one trade for pitcher Kim Jung-woo.

He was a founding member of the NC and a member of the 2020 championship team. In 121 games, he batted .395 (122-for-395) with 12 home runs, 70 RBIs, and an OPS of .814. While he struggled a bit in the second half of the season, he showed his “clutch hitter” side early in the season with home runs and RBIs in crucial situations, fueling the team’s early season run to first place.
