‘1 win until PO’ NC coach Kang Myung-hyun

NC Dinos head coach Kang Myung-ho was pleased with the team’s two-game sweep of SSG, but revealed that the starting pitching plan for Game 3 will be different.

NC won 7-3 against SSG Landers in the second game of the semifinals of the 2023 Shinhan Bank SOL KBO Postseason at SSG Landers Field in Incheon at 6:30 p.m. on April 23.

NC is on the verge of qualifying for the playoffs. With one day of rest, the team will host the KT Wiz in a three-game series at home at Changwon NC Park on the 25th if they win the third game.

NC jumped on SSG in the first inning with singles by Martin, Kwon Hee-dong, and a sacrifice fly by Seo Ho-chul.

After taking a 4-0 lead in the third inning, SSG’s Han Yoo-seom hit a back-to-back home run to cut the deficit to one run, but the team scored two more runs in the bottom of the eighth inning on a solo shot by Kim Hyung-jun to win the game with another big inning.

After the game, manager Kang In-soo said, “Scoring early in the game gave us a boost. It was difficult in the middle of the game because we couldn’t score more runs, but scoring three runs, including a solo home run by Kim Hyung-jun in the eighth inning, was a factor in our victory,” he said.

In particular, he praised Kim’s solo home run in the eighth inning as “crucial to the outcome of the game.”

Both the first game on the previous day (22nd) and today’s game were decided in the eighth inning. Commenting on the strong second half of the game, Kang said, “The players showed their backbone by continuing to push forward. From the young players to the seniors, the desire to push the game was strong, and I think the team’s cohesion has been created.”

Kim Hyung-jun wasn’t the only one to praise Park on the day. Park went 3-for-5 with a home run and two RBIs. “Even though he wasn’t 100 percent, he played without any hesitation. He is doing his best for the juniors,” Kang said.

He also talked about the pitching staff. Starting pitcher Song Myung-ki gave up two runs in three innings. After giving up a two-run homer to Han Yoo-seom in the fourth inning, he came off the mound immediately. Coach Kang said, “It would have been better if Song Myung-ki could have pitched a little 바카라사이트 longer, but it was hard for him to continue after the home run, so I replaced him. The rest of the bullpen did a good job,” said Kang.

Prior to the game, Kang announced that “20-win ace” Pedi would start Game 3, but he changed his plans. After apologizing for being a liar, Kang said, “Pedi showed discomfort and anxiety after training today and went to the hospital for a checkup. I was going to decide whether to play him in Game 3 after watching his condition, but I don’t think so. Tanner will start the third game.”
