‘2024 Hana Dream School-Watwiminwont’ Daejeon’s efforts to promote local soccer in the region are successful
Daejeon Hana Citizen has completed ‘Hana Dream School’ and ‘What We Want’, a training program to expand the popularity of football.
‘Hana Dream School’ gives students dreams and hopes through soccer
The ‘Hana Dream School’ program, which targets elementary and middle schools in the region, has been implemented since 2021 through a business agreement between Daejeon Hana Citizen and the Daejeon Metropolitan Office of Education to foster sports spirit and promote fun school life for local students.
Professional athletes have been visiting the schools and actively interacting with students through basic training on dribbling, passing, and shooting, mini-games and recreation, 스포츠토토사이트 and fan signing sessions.
This year, Daejeon Hana Citizen visited four elementary schools (Daeryong, Samseong, Sae Mirae, Jinjam) and four middle schools (Tanbang, Deokmyeong, Hagi, Namseon) for a total of eight programs. A total of 178 students participated in the program, and since 2021, we have met with about 1,300 students to provide career exploration opportunities and encourage healthy physical activities.
We also held a ‘Stadium Tour’ program for about 150 students from participating schools of the Hana Dream School. The students were given a unique experience through various tour programs, including the Daejeon Hana Citizen Promotion Center and the 2002 World Cup Memorial Hall, as well as a tour of the players’ locker room and grounds at the Daejeon World Cup Stadium.
At the 32nd round home game on August 27, we hosted the ‘We Family Football Stadium Date’ program with the Daejeon Metropolitan Office of Education, inviting 44 families and 153 students from Hana Dream School to watch the game with their families.
■ Soccer! We can do it too! Women’s soccer club one-day class ‘What We Want’
‘What Women Want’ is a program for women’s soccer clubs in the local area to receive coaching from the players themselves. The program was launched in 2022 to help women get more excited about soccer through interaction with professional players.
In 2022, the program reached more than 200 female soccer players. In 2023, the program was held with about 150 soccer enthusiasts, and this year, it was expanded to the neighboring regions of Buyeo, Sejong, and Gongju, as well as Daejeon, with 200 participants.
FS Horang, who participated in the program, said, “I applied for the first time this year through the club’s social media, and it was so fun to learn soccer directly from the players I had only seen on TV. I was very grateful that the players were kind enough to tell me the details of my teammates’ deficiencies. Through the program, I also developed a love for Daejeon Hana Citizens, so I visited their home games with my teammates and watched the matches.
In addition, Daejeon successfully hosted the ‘Hana Queens Cup’ with 16 teams and 170 participants from local women’s soccer clubs and the ‘Hana Bank Cup Daejeon Love Football Tournament’ with 45 teams and 1,300 participants from local soccer clubs in May and June of this year, creating a festival that brought people together through soccer.
Daejeon will continue to carry out various activities targeting different segments of the local population to create a local soccer boom and expand its base.
