Alves Case is the first sex crime case

Dani Alves, a former Barcelona star player, was sentenced to four and a half years in prison for rape at a nightclub.

Alves, who played 408 games for Barcelona, is one of the most winning footballers in history, lifting trophies in succession in the Spanish, Italian and French leagues.

A Spanish court ruled that Alves sexually assaulted the victim in the bathroom of a nightclub in Barcelona in the early morning of December 31, 2022. According to the Associated Press, the woman said in a state prosecutor’s interrogation that she was willing to dance with Alves and enter the bathroom with him, but when she tried to go out later, Alves stopped her from going out. She claimed that Alves slapped and insulted her and forced her to have sex against her will to go out of the bathroom.

Currently, Alves denies all wrongdoing in connection with the rape charges. He is likely to appeal the conviction on the same day.

The Alves case is the first sex crime case in the spotlight since Spain overhauled a bill that would focus on the consent or absence of consent in defining sex crimes in 2022. The bill was created in response to a group protest against the 2016 mass rape at the San Fermin bull run festival in Pamplona.

Meanwhile, Alves, one of the best fullbacks in history, has lifted 23 cups including three European Champions League titles at Barcelona. Alves, 40, played 125 A-match games for Brazil and led the Copa America title twice. 바카라사이트
