Korean men’s university professional volleyball selection team, participated in international volleyball competitions in 8 countries in Mungyeong

The first opening match of international university volleyball held in Korea became the match between Korea and Japan. The 2023th Patriotic Cup Mungyeong City Mungyeong International University Volleyball Tournament will kick off on August 26.

The competition is hosted by the Korea University Volleyball Federation and the Korea Volleyball Association. It is sponsored by Mungyeong-si, Gyeongsangbuk-do, and BUNPATTYBUN, a brand specializing in handmade burgers. Mungyeong City will make all-out efforts to provide administrative support for the successful hosting of the competition.

The competition will be held at Sun Seung-kwan, the Armed Forces Sports Unit (Sangmu) and will run until the 31st. The University Volleyball Federation explained, “A total of eight men’s college teams and professional teams’ promising volleyball players are designed to improve their performance through international competitions and to provide a venue for international exchange and friendship.”

Hosted by the Korea University Volleyball Federation and the Korea Volleyball Association and sponsored by Mungyeong City, Gyeongsangbuk-do, and Mungyeong City, a brand specializing in handmade burgers, will kick off on August 26.


Including the Korean university selection team, the United States, Britain, Australia, Japan, China, Thailand, and Vietnam will participate. Korea was in Group A along with Japan, China, and Thailand. Group B consisted of the United States, Britain, Australia, and Vietnam.

The game is played in three stages: the group preliminary round, the semifinals, and the final. In the group preliminary round, eight countries will be divided into two groups, A and B, four teams each, and play a full league. After that, the first and second places in each group will advance to the semifinals (semi-finals).

The Korean university selection team consisted of nine promising college players and five rookie players from the professional team. In the V League, Lee Joon (Korean Air), Park Seung-soo (OK Financial Group), Jung Tae-joon (Hyundai Capital), Shin Seung-hoon (KB Insurance), and Jang Ji-won (Korea Electric Power Corporation) said, “Kim Chan-ho.” 스포츠토토
