Resort World New York City Announces $5 Billion Expansion Plan
Resort World Casino New York City has just announced an ambitious $5 billion expansion plan, which aims to transform southeast Queens into a vibrant entertainment destination with a concert hall and a range of amenities. The casino is pushing hard to secure one of three full-fledged gaming licenses offered by the state, solidifying its position as a leading contender in the race.
Located near the Aquaduct race track, the city’s only casino aims to boost opportunities with the state by proposing to create 10,000 jobs when applications officially begin this year. Securing licenses would expand its offerings from mechanical activities to table games such as blackjack and poker.
The organization responsible for proposals to expand the resort’s World Casino in Queens showed off their plans at the casino at a gathering attended by renowned Queens-raised rapper Nas chef Marcus Samuelsson and community leaders such as borough president Donovan Richards and Senator Joseph Adabo Jr.
Nas said, “This project will provide an opportunity for ambitious, dedicated families living in Queens to attract top-notch talent and nurture leaders. With this effort, it’s clear that the world is at our fingertips.”
The released vision explains the significant expansion of Resort World Casino. Resort World includes plans to expand its casino floor to an impressive 350,000 square feet, making it the largest in the world. The proposal also includes adding 1,600 new hotel rooms at the adjacent Hyatt Regency JFK Airport, complementing the 400 rooms already opened in 2021.
An additional 350,000 square feet of conference and entertainment space are planned, including a 7,000-seat stadium, a sports academy honoring two-time NBA champion Kenny “Jet” Smith, a health center and a 10-acre space with a promenade. The expansion is likely to create 5,000 union positions in gaming and services as early as this year, along with 5,000 construction jobs.
Resort World Casino has also introduced a linked proposal in Long Island’s Belmont Park that involves a merger of horse racing operations. This integration could pave the way for the state to launch initiatives for the remaining Aqueduct properties, which could lead to another project worth about $5 billion, as Genting America East President Robert DeSalvio said.
He mentioned their desire to create “a 24-hour community that enhances communities” once the land is secured. The plan includes building 3,000 homes that allocate 50 acres and implementing transportation improvements for connectivity to JFK and Manhattan for parks.
“We are delighted to be part of the Queensland region for more than a decade,” DeSalvio expressed. “When we first gathered here more than 12 years ago to start construction in Resort World New York City, our aspirations exceeded our plans – now those dreams are on the verge of coming true.”
Resort World Casino will compete across all five boroughs, including a rival proposal from Queens led by Mets owner Steve Cohen and an individual proposal from Brooklyn and the Bronx. There are also five proposals scattered across midtown Manhattan, one of which will take place in the rap scene with support from once-Nas rival Jay Z. 무료슬롯사이트
