The GROUND.N K League U18 Championship, now in its ninth year, is a summer tournament for high school (U18) clubs affiliated with the K League. The tournament was held from July 15 to 28 in Cheonan, Chungcheongnam-do, with a total of 24 teams participating.

The K-League Youth Championship has established itself as one of the best youth tournaments in Korea by making various attempts to develop the skills of youth players. This year, the tournament continued to operate at a high level with consideration for the players, including providing video analysis data for all games, providing physical data using EPTS, holding night games, and implementing cooling breaks. From the tournament, all matches were broadcast live on YouTube, and the final was broadcast live on TV on Sky Sports, a specialized sports channel focused on soccer.

In addition, Nexon, which services ‘EA SPORTS™ FIFA Online 4′ (hereinafter referred to as ‘FIFA Online 4’) in Korea, served as the title sponsor of the tournament for the second consecutive year. In January of last year, the League and Nexon jointly launched the GROUND.N, a project to support youth soccer in the K League.

Meanwhile, the K League Under-12 (U-12) and Under-11 (U-11) Championships, which are the primary tournaments for youth clubs under the K League, were held in Yeongdeok-gun, Gyeongsangbuk-do, from the 14th to the 20th of this month for a total of seven days. Finally, the secondary-level tournaments, the K League U-15 and U-14 championships, will be held in Cheonan, Chungcheongnam-do, for 13 days from August 9 to 21.
